Office Policy Regarding Insurance
We will verify that we have all of your insurance information on the day of the appointment and will be happy to file your claim as a courtesy. We do collect an estimated co-payment at the time of each visit.
Dr. Healey is an IN-NETWORK CONTRACT PROVIDER with AETNA, ASSURANT and UNITED CONCORDIA. All other carriers, Dr. Healey will be considered out-of-network. We do ask that you understand your insurance policy and any limitations regarding out-of-network benefits. DR. HEALEY IS NOT A PROVIDER ON ANY STATE FUNDED PLAN such as MEDICAID/PEACHCARE or WELLCARE.
We file all insurance claims electronically, so your insurance carrier will receive each claim within a few days of the treatment. You are responsible for any balance on your account after 30 days, whether insurance has paid or not. Billing statements will be sent monthly so that you can monitor the insurance payment status.
Insurance carriers have many different formulas and pay scales to use in calculating benefits and we have no control over this. We can only assist you in “estimating” your portion of the cost of treatment.
Your dental insurer may reimburse at a lower rate than the dentist’s actual fee. They will state that the reimbursement was reduced because your dentist’s fee has exceeded the usual, customary, or reasonable fee (“UCR”).
Unfortunately, they determine what the UCR is per area, take an average, and most assuredly their accepted fee will be lower than the dentist’s fee, so that they will profit!
